Axholme Joint Railway Liveries
19th Century liveries are often open to conjecture. It is also notoriously difficult to reproduce
accurate colours on a computer screen, so this has not been attempted. Accurate matches
should be taken from preserved vehicles, museums, or historical societies.
Railcars
The Axholme Joint Railway did not own any locomotives, but it did own a
Sentinel railcar. This was painted in the
same green & cream livery that the LNER used on its other
Sentinel railcars. This used green on the panels below
the window line, and cream above. The railcar was labelled 'Axholme Joint Railway'.
Wagons
The AJR's wagon livery is unknown, but probably followed standard British practice of using grey for unfitted wagons.
