Engine Sheds of the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway

The principal engine sheds were at Bourne, Spalding, South Lynn, Melton Constable, Norwich and Yarmouth. There was also a small shed at Cromer. At Peterborough the Midland and Great Northern engines were stabled at the Midland shed, and at Bourne a considerable number of Midland engines were quartered in the joint shed. The Great Northern also stabled a few engines in the joint shed at Spalding. Melton Constable was also home to the M&GN's locomotive, carriage and wagon work shops, where repairs to the company's locos and rolling stock would have been carried out.
