The loco I particularly remember from Waverley Station in 1956 (when I was en route from home in Lancashire to the REME camp in Stirling) was the superheated Scott 'Black Duncan'. I remember it as gleaming black and polished metal, gliding back and forth with the odd carriage in tow. I'd love to build it and have been told the Gem (?) whitemetal kit will fit on a Hornby LMS P2 chassis. I have a tender drive P2 - does anyone know whether it is possible to do a conversion on this?

I am a novice railway modeller but have been building other types of models - aircraft, soldiers, cars etc for more years than I care to think about and would appreciate some expert advice on this topic. I am not interested in making a super scale exact replica as I wish to run it on the club layouts so the odd solecism would not be a great deterrent to me.
