Happening to click on a couple of links in your older posts in this thread Neil, I realised that : -
This one -
- https://railway-photography.smugmug.com ... /i-XXL3pLZ almost certainly shows, in the background, the works of STC (Standard Telephones & Cables) Ltd., on the east side of the ECML near Cemetery signal box (just north of Barnet Tunnel) with the V2 being on the Down Slow line; and the number of locos and the types of vehicles present on so many tracks suggest that they are in attendance at a major mishap incident nearby, quite possibly the 1948 derailment and overturning of 60508 Duke Of Rothesay on an Up train a little further south towards New Southgate.
Also, pic 3/18, '4771, Hadley Wood', is coming off the Down Goods line at Greenwood Box at the south end of Hadley Wood South Tunnel, the end of the four-tracking from London & the southern end of the 2-track-only section north to Potters Bar.
