Yes! Whilst mine seems to run smoothly enough, its rear pony truck derails on every set of points and every slip on the layout I'm not sure if that's something to do with back-to-backs but I've never got round to giving it much serious thought; usually Green Arrow just spends most of her time sat in the loco yarddavidwest wrote:

More usually inept set up of the sprung slide carrier which houses the axle of the Cartazzi wheelset. (There's no factory test of success on points, the chassis is run on a short length of track only following assembly.) Between A1, A2 and V2 examples which all have this design I have seen a full range from:
screw so slack there is no spring pressure, and the carrier leans and jams in the guide slot,
screw so tight the carrier cannot move in the guide slot and the wheels barely contact the rail.
Somewhere between is a happy medium where the carrier exerts a soft spring pressure on the wheelset and the whole assembly traverses freely side to side in the guide slot. There's also one other possibility, carrier set up OK, something else present around the screw head blocking free movement, a loop of the wiring on the instance I have seen.
Pull the wheelset out of the plastic carrier and test alone rolling it through the trouble spots. If that's OK then suspect the carrier set up.

Thanks HS! I'll have a look at that as soon as I next get home from uni! Not owning any Bachmann A1s or A2s I've never really come across this before.

See my post in "Oxford Diecast Diversifies into Railway Models" for goodish news on a new Bachmann wagon for '15/16 adrianbs
Re: Bachmann 2015/16
As much as I love J72's and can't wait to get one in N gauge, I don't understand why both Farish and Dapol have announced them? At least the Dapol one will be available in NER livery, it seems that some model railway companies don't understand that railways existed pre-1923

Hatton's are now listing more than 10 in stock.teaky wrote: there is a shortage of LNER D11/1s it seems. .

They are indeed. Thanks Kestrel.
Unfortunately (I should have been more specific) it is the LNER D11/1 in black that seems hard to find. Since I have nowhere to run it anyway, I'll wait in the hope they will do a re-run.
