Beautifully done Mick. Impressed by the lining on the frames between the splashers, very fiddly.

Looks so fine, worth blowing up to O gauge size on screen for a closer inspection.

Love that B&W view Mick - or is it actually a colour shot of the loco in works photographic grey? :D

Current build a Arthur K LNER D20 . Good kit , the only issue so far is the cab interior parts, required a lot of cutting etc. Next job will be the Boiler Handrails. Kit has provided internal motion parts, not very visible when assembled !!.

nzpaul wrote: Sun Feb 04, 2024 8:23 pm....I've built a couple of A2s using the Hornby A3/B12/Hall chassis as a starting point. They've worked out okay, but everything apart from the drive unit has to be built from scratch. On the plus side it is a cheap way of building one.

The sheer length of the Raven really is quite something, very much in the ballpark of the GWR "Great Bear" which was another long one.
They weren't referred to as "Skittle Alleys" for nothing!

D20 is now painted , lining etc will wait until the Tender is built.

Now on the go a Thompson Q1 3d print bought via ebay for £3, sitting on a spare Bachmann 04 chassis.

Obviously a partially failed print which has neded a lot of filling and levelling up on the large cracked offside. Other than a set of etched steps, all the other bits are from the spares box.

Now primed , this has shown a lot of further cleaning up required.
