Any ECML spotting logs/recollections from 1967 please?

Post by strang steel »

I know this is a long shot, but are there any ex-spotters out there with notes/memories/recollections from 1967 on the ECML please?

To be much more specific, I am interested on any date records of DP2 working The Flying Scotsman in March or April of that year. It was used as part of the FP Deltic fleet but tended to work Anglo-Scottish services more in the middle of the day, rather than the non-stop 10:00 a.m. departure.

Actually my initial guess, as to when these events of DP2 working 1A16 took place in 1967, may have been 6 weeks wide of the mark.

The July 1967 Railway Observer states - "During May Clarence Yard duty 6 was temporarily modified for working by DP2 on a non-progressive basis. It is believed that DP2 was also covering the 10.00 SX Kings Cross to Edinburgh and 2230 SX and SUN Edinburgh to Kings Cross".

Are there any further details? Does anyone have a June or July 1967 Modern Railways they could look through please?
