70000 Britannia

Post by neilgow »

I had anticipated 60163 making an appearance but instead I got a very acceptable substitute.

70000 westbound at Woodborough, GWR Berks & Hants line, heading for Bath and Bristol via Westbury. Passing at 1150. Probably running at 70mph but going very well and more or less silently.

Ay up, Wootang!

70000 is running in the condition in which she did a test run from Crewe to Carlisle before going back into the paint shop for her lined green livery so the lack of 'plates is correct.

I'd like to see her in lined green with "handhold" deflectors and the name painted onto them. I don't think either of the preserved Brits have run like that.
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!
