Ay up!

Is it just me or does the B12 seem a little er... shall we say..... overpowerd for the rake?

She certainly never seemed to really exert herself in those sequences! :mrgreen:

Mr BB,
I was there on the Friday, still positively buzzing from it (had a steam based fortnight but that is another story) and they double headed the J15 and B12 and they fairly shot along the way to Holt. She was streaming well.

I think their stock and trade was the boat trains? in LNER days so yes a quad set is like playing Hornby trains for them.

Bearing in mind the fact that they were generally acknowledged as a fine design, and clearly quite simple with inside cylinders, and used widely on ambulance trains throughout the war, I wonder why more B12/3s were not built. :? Pity they weren't named! :(
