The following archives include significant LNER content. Many of these will be of interest to those who are
researching their ancestors.
The Public Records Office holds many railway archives including some employee archives.
Try searching for "LNER" in their Public Records Office Catalogue.
Scotland has its own National Archives. As would be expected, it contains records relating to the
North British Railway and Great North of Scotland Railway, as well as the national LNER.
The National Railway Museum also has extensive archives of people and railways, as well as detailed drawings and plans.
This selection of railway films concentrates on LNER subjects, including films of
A3 Flying Scotsman,
A4 Mallard, and
A2 Blue Peter.
