Rolling Stock
This section of the LNER Encyclopedia describes non-powered rolling stock that served with the LNER.
Rolling stock has been divided according to broad type:
Rolling stock used to carry passengers.
Coaching stock which does not carry passengers. E.g. high speed freight, parcels, newspapers.
Rolling stock that carried other freight. E.g. coal, general freight, cattle, oil.
Wagons and other rolling stock which was used for internal, non-revenue earning uses. E.g. snow ploughs, locomotive coal,
permanent way maintenance.
