The LNER Society
The LNER Society was founded in 1965 to collect and make information available about the LNER and its
constituents. The group consists primarily of modellers, historians and research students. Contact between
members is maintained by correspondence, Newsletter and journal and meetings. The informal Spring Meeting
includes short talks, film shows and visits to locations with an LNER flavour and the formal Annual General Meeting
is held in the Autumn and is followed by a talk in the afternoon. Meetings are, of course, held in locations which
have an association with the LNER!
Anyone interested in learning more about the LNER or contributing to historical research in this area should
