Renaming Proposal: Gresley K4s

Renaming Proposal: Gresley K4s

Having just returned from a week at the NYMR where K4 61994 "The Great Marquess" was very active, I pondered on what names I might have chosen for the K4 fleet to reflect an alternative view of their West Highland pedigree. Here are my suggestions (yes, I know there were only six K4s, but I threw in some spares for good measure):
  • The King over the Water
    The Little Gentleman in Black Velvet
    The Martial Boy (doubtless nicknamed "The Butcher" by crews)
    The Auld Alliance
    Flora McDonald
    General Wade
    The Well of the Dead
    White Cockade
I don't think these would look as good on First ScotRail 156 Sprinter units!

Anyone got any additions they could suggest?
So - did anyone dare tell Stephenson, "It's not Rocket science"?
