LNER 8 wheeled high sided tenders

Tender number 5565 is quoted in Yeadon's Register as being a one off. It was built for P2 2001 and remained with 60501 until withdrawal. Tenders 5575 to 5579 were allocated to the other 5 P2s and tenders 5580 to 5584 were of the same type. A study of photographs shows 60502 with a similar tender to 60501 in that half round beading was applied to the top of the tank sides, running down the leading edges which were curved inwards to match the inward curves of the cab sides.
My question concerns the form of construction for tenders 5575 to 5579. Photographs show these tenders to have smooth sides. Were these tenders welded too?

The tenders for 2001 and 2002 were to the 1929 design "New Type" non-corridor tender with beading on the top and front edges of the sidesheets. The top edge of the beading marked the top edge of the straight portion of the sides and was just a shade over 7 feet above the soleplate. The tank for 2001 was of unique all-welded construction. All other 1929 design New Type tenders were riveted, but with the outer faces ground-off and stoppered-up flush to give the smooth sided appearance.

2003 to 2006 had tenders to the later Streamlined non-corridor design, with no beading and the straight part of the sides reaching just over 7 feet 5 inches above the soleplate. They were all riveted but smooth-finished.

Thanks for your informative reply. The other interesting difference between the tenders for 2001/2002 and those for 2003/2006 is the inward curve to the front of the side sheet. I can only presume that the 1929 design "New Type" tenders had this design feature with the beading and therefore for symmetry the locomotive cab side sheets were also turned in to match with beading too. As the tenders for 2003/2006 were to a different design with straight sided side sheets, the locomotive cabs were straight to match?

The New Type tenders were designed to match the cabs of the A1 and later A3 Pacifics, which had turned-in rear edges and which had been in production since 1922.

The Streamlined tenders were mostly built to suit the A4 Pacifics, introduce from 1935. They had smooth, flat, straight sides to their cabs.
