G'Day Gents

I found a picture on Facebook today, I thought I'd pinch it and put it on here, as it show's 'Great Northern her self, but with a later tender, I always thought (bad idea) she towed a GN type tender up until Mr Thompson rebuilt her, anyone have any more information.

Good picture , certainly I've never seen it before . Great Northern did not look like that the last time it pulled us from Doncaster to Leeds..........mind you it was 1961 !

High sided tender fitted at overhaul in Feb 1937 - No 5582. Per Yeadon.

I have found another unusual picture of Great Northern, according to the caption, it's a wartime picture of GN working a coal train on the Woodhead route, I would say that is Off Piste !!!!!

There were a few unusual locos over Woodhead during the war. There was a very good collection of photos published a few years ago, I forget the guy's name. Really interesting stuff.
