i never saw a new steam locomotive before, far too young, but it has bought a tear to my eye.

Big story about it in Steam Railway, apparently, there was a problem with the water pipes to the boiler, so the fire brigade were called in to assist, but the local paper printed a big artical about the fact they were called to cool it down as it was going to explode, and printed a picture of it with the white steam, doctored to black, they WERE made to print an apology!

The local paper must have been thinking of earlier locomotives from Darlington. 'Locomotion' had a few boiler explosions in its day, before safety valves were perfected :-)
