Good morning all

I have started converting Hornby Pullmans into an eight coach rake for the "Queen of Scots" train.

I have seen pics of the original "Hush-Hush" on the QoS, and the green book lists other prestige trains, but in its rebuilt state, only one trip on the Coronation and one on the Silver Jubilee are mentioned.

Did the rebuilt W1 perform on any more named trains?

I have the SEF kits for both versions of the W1, I have so far only built one chassis, which runs superbly fitted with a large Mashima. Wh ich body shall I make to haul the Pullmans.

There are some photos around, showing it hauling Flying Scotsman in teak.

Thanks for the info.

Just been chatting to an old friend, who was lucky enough to be hauled by 60700, back in 1950s.

Are you looking at pre 60700 days i.e. as 10000?
I know in BR days it hauled the up Scarborough Flyer and I believe there’s a shot of same in the Locomotive Headboards book by Dave Peel

Good hunting
