J39/1 wheels info

J39/1 wheels info

A couple of questions about a class I know little of:

Was the crankpin in line or between the spokes of the driving wheels?

2. I'm told the J39/2 4200 gal tenders had disc wheels, but did the 39/1 3500 gal tenders have 10 spoked wheels?
