Hi there, does anyone have any photos of the J79 tank loco, known as the H2 in NER service? I'm thinking about buying a model one but the only photo i've seen of one is on this website.

Cheers, Rob

RCTS Locomotives of the LNER Vo.8B will have some.

There should also be a Yeadon volume but I don't know if it has been published yet.

It is an obscure type, so don't expect many pictures - even in the RCTS book.

RCTS 8B has two photos, one of 407, one of 1787, thus capturing 2/3rds of the entire production of this loco. They were built in 1897 at Gateshead and a service stock loco, 1662 was transferred to running stock in 1925, having been built in 1907. All three were withdrawn in 1936/7.

The boiler is domeless and similar in design to the J78 crane and the Y7 0-4-0T.
