Hi Guys

I am converting a BR N2 back to LNER pre-war and was wondering about a little info if anyone has the respective copy of Yeadons or RCTS green book.

BR number 69522 no BR shed code but I am guessing a Knigs + loco as most hornby ones are. I just hope that it doesn't turn out to be 4749.

many thanks for any help.

Simon.

Hello Simon. According to both Yeadon's and RCTS, 69522 had been renumbered from 4743. This engine never had condensing gear and the Westinghouse brake gear was removed in 1940. Prewar, it was only at Kings X. Hope this helps. John

John

Many thanks, I shall lop off the condensing gear and add some westinghouse pumps.

Simon.

Hello again Simon. Having taken a closer look at the tables and text in RCTS, this engine never had Westinghouse brakes, so it would be incorrect to add a pump. It always had vacuum brakes only. Nonetheless, the condensing gear should be removed. Sorry for the confusion. John

No worries, just have to restrict duties to vacuum stock only and perhaps a freight or 2. Thanks again.
Simon.
