Great Central Has 4771

Post by rorz101uk »

Hey just to tell you that 4771 is coming to the Great Central
The railway is delighted to confirm that "Green Arrow" will be visiting
the railway soon, for a spell of running in prior to return to main
line duties.

It's understood the engine will appear in LNER apple green carrying the
number 4771, as a change from it's recent BR livery.

There are no details yet on when the engine will arrive, or for how
long it will stay. The details of the running in duties are also
currently unavailable.
Thanks

Is the GCR trying to set itself up as being the place for running in / proving / certifying for mainline operation?

Will check it today, but she still needs the middle axle in yet before she moves out of the workshop to the paintshop, so it's going to be a while yet before she does get down there.
But having said that, Tuesday 18th July, she makes her first run to Scarborough. I was going to take the day off work, but with having the following bank holiday week off, and then the next weeks monday & Friday, someone else has them 2 weeks, so I'll just pop up the road to see her come back down, less than a mile from my house!
