The Flying Scotsman in Texas!

Post by richard »

I'd printed out the following page, and found it again earlier this week when I was looking through my "Americanized Flying Scotsman" notes:

Terrell is where we stayed at the weekend for the Wills Point gig! Which means Flying Scotsman will have gone within feet of the Wills Point depot that we set the layout up in! All fast freight and intermodals now, but a couple of people mentioned the UP Challenger that stopped there a few years ago.

Dallas Union Station has changed a bit now - with modern developments for the DART light rail/etc. The old T&P building at Fort Worth is still there and looks like the photo. Driven past it many times. usually has lots of UP covered hoppers on the sidings nearby.
