LNER locos coming out of overhaul

Post by Rlangham »

I was thinking, what LNER locomotives can we expect to see come out of overhaul/restoration in the future? In the short term;

K4 63442 'The Great Marquess'
Q6 63395

In a few years or so

Y7 68088
Y7 1310
Y1/3 68153

In the longer term

J21 65033

Anyone think of any others i've forgot? Looks like a great lineup anyway, especially for NER fans!

J72 Joem
The Q5?

Both NELPG (with the Q6)
They also have the J27 but I understand its cylinder problems are fairly significant - so the end of the list at the moment (Q6 and J72 being the priority).

They also used to look after Blue Peter - future unknown, but at least it is undercover.

Three others: Bittern, Tornado, and the N2 - all for next year.

I take it by Q5 you mean the Q7 undercover at Shildon? She's always been owned by the NRM so doubt she'll come out to play for a very long time. Looks like a great lineup of locos though, although the LNER doesn't have as many preserved locos as the other 'big four', there's certainly a fantastic variety of them!
