It was operated by the Great Eastern Railway before the LNER, so they would have run things like the "Claud Hamiltons" (D14,D15,D16) and B12s for the express services. Also the D13 for a short while, but these were displaced from express duties before the LNER was formed.

The LNER kept many of these locos in active service for a long time.
They also introduced B17s on the ex-GER expresses.

BR would have introduced BR Standards although I don't know the details.
I think the Britannias were used in East Anglia quite a bit?

I was actually just refering to the diesels they used. They used B17s quite a bit before the war I think.

Prior to electrification most trains were hauled by either class 37 or 47 locos and stock in later days was in Network Southeast livery.

Mainly Class 37s in the 1970s I think, although Class 31s were also common.
Not sure when Class 47s started to be used, but I think they dominated by the early 1980s. Class 37s were still frequently used however, and Class 31s continued to appear too.

Class 31s... weren't some of the wheels not attached to axles?
