Another one back in Steam at the NNR

Post by Norfolkman »

Hi Folks,

You'll be pleased to know that after an absence of 18 months LNER B12 61572 is back in operation at the North Norfolk Railway.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :!:

It has had a thorough bottom end mechanical overhaul that should see it through at least the next 10 - 15 years. It has been repainted into plain BR early '50s Black with early BR crest  which it will carry for the remainder of its current bolier certificate (maximum of 2 years). It will then have a boiler overhaul after which it should hopefully reappear in LNER Apple Green :D .

Update on other NNR based LNER locos:
J15 65462 is fully serviceable. :D
N7 69621 is out of traffic due to a mechanical problems requiring a new crosshead casting to be manufactured. :(
Y7 68088's boiler has gone away for repairs and work is underway on the mechanics. 8)
J21 65033 still awaiting launch of fund raising initiatives before any work commences.

WD 2-10-0 90775 (not quite LNER but they did use some) - having flexible roof stays replaced - due back in use by the summer. :)
