Post by 51L »

I see NELPG maybe putting the K1 in LNER green as 2005 once its been on the Jacobite trains.
She is supposed to go to carnforth to get repainted
the choice is
LNER 2005 :-(
OR
BR 62005 :-)
i dont no there choice but i think it maybe LNER as everyone i no wants it in LNER!

I understand the final livery poll gives three options:

LNER Green As No 2005
BR Black with early crest as No 62005
BR Black with later crest as No 62005

She has recently had her 'Lord of The Isles' Nameplates removed, these may however be reinstated before she returns to Scotland for the Summer Jacobite season.

Does anyone on the NYMR know what's happening to the K1?
As on Sat 12th May it's due to run the 3 dales tour, coming no where near York.
Then on Mon 14th May it's going York - Carnforth.....when does it land in York??
That would be a great one for my York Steam site, which I hasten to add is not called North Yorkshire Steam.

I understand NELPG members have now voted in favour of British Railways Black livery, with an early stye crest. 62005 will be repainted into this livery once her Jacobite duties in Scotland are complete
