60019 Bittern is going home.
September 22nd, Bittern is to pull the Talisman for the A1 Trust, but not to darlington, it is instead going on to Newcastle, where it was delivered new in December 1937.
The trip will be diesel hauled from Kings Cross to Grantham, then 60019 takes over.
What you don't realise, it is 34 years since it's last main line run, which is 5 years more than it was in service!
