Just a vague recollection... was it one of the dockyard areas to replace Sentinels?

The shed was 60C Helmsdale, and I got it wrong because it was an ex- Highland Railway Shed and of course that made it an ex-LMS shed. I have to come clean on that. The pannier tanks were 1646 and 1649.

They were sent up there when the ex-Highland Railway Loco no.55053 had to be withdrawn and they had to find something else suitable to work the passenger service on the lightly laid branch from the Mound station on the Highland line to Dornoch.

Up to at least 1950 Neasden had three ex-GW tanks (not panniers) allocated to it - 1426, 6129 and 6166, presumably for working on the joint line.

I think these engines were actually stationed at Aylesbury and used on services to Princes Risborough and High Wycombe.

There was a 54xx at one stage as well.
