Re 'Silver Fox', I didn't know Top Shed at all, so it could be somewhere there.
It looks like nowhere in KX station or Passenger loco to me : Nor any part of KX Milk Dock/Yard, I don't think.


But those first Getty images : The first, the side view (No. */20494) of the five locos lined up at "Kings Cross Goods Yard" - Looks like they were facing north on the lines between Goods & Mineral signal box and Five Arch Bridge points box, as the 7-miniature-armed signal on the left just has to be G&M's signals leading out of (L to R) the Shunt Line and Nos. 1 & 2 Goods Arrivals. It's not that easy to tell, but I reckon the far three locos are on those lines, with the other A4 on Goods Departure, and the W1 on Coal Arrival.

Further down the other photos, the front view (No. */20509) of a five-loco line up looks, I think, to have York Road/Way viaduct in the background, strongly suggesting that it was taken on the same occasion/location. - (I know the first photo's caption names the locos, and in the other, at least four of the front numbers are visible, but I can't quickly access a source to try correlating them at present.)

I know that this is probably taboo but I had to smile when I saw the picture of the GWR railcar under construction.

What would H & S have to say about that!

Working at Height Regs, condition of steps, unsupported scaffold board, PPE, etc etc.

But we managed to survive, Brussels take note!

Plenty didn't though - and some that did survive were horrifically disfigured and/or mentally or physically scarred for life
