great photos. the colour really brings them to life. Great to see Royal Lancer, an under photoed loco if you ask me. and the ones with the kids running along the platform, simply awesome, that is what childhood and trainspotting should be about.
don't forget about the Great Eastern Railway

Yes, simply wonderful - particulary the night scene at Carlisle in glorious colour. All in favour of kids running about but not like the little chap at Horsted Keynes some years ago now, who was so excited to see 'Blackmore Vale' running in with a train (probably his dad had told him it wasn't often seen out :) ) he ran alongside, so closely that it seemed as if he was going to fall under it. The driver, Brian Peacock, looked horrified but there was no way he could stop. Luckily one of the C&W lads who happened to be nearby, grabbed hold of the boy and pulled him clear.
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!
