Three of the accidents here involved Deltics. I have no box diagram for this location though i do have a lot of S&T plans and locking charts given to me by the locking fitter who relocked the frame after the 1967 'accident'.

With just a Tilley lamp hissing away for illumination, FF - don't recall they had mains electricity there :cry: .

I've said it before on here but no apologies for repeating it - he was a disgrace to railwaymen. I heard some while back that he died, I hope he rots in hell.

After reading the book and chatting to some S&T guys who knew a bit about it i reckon they could have got rid of him long before the incident.

One thing i will say,hq1,with regards to railmen (in my experience anyway) he was an exception rather than the rule.You're a decent lot on the whole.

Yes welcome back did you need a special visa to end up in Swindon? they have some funny ideas there about railways.

Welome home Malcolm!! Have you got over the shock yet??Never mind different country,i bet it feels like a different world!Good luck with your jobsearch,i've just been out of work for 8 months,and it was no picnic.Don't expect much help from the jobcentre folk-they're rather snowed under at the moment!!Managed to get a job myself,but i was starting to worry.

Yes, GWR land is a little strange, but the museum is okay I suppose. Only temporary though as I am looking for work anywhere in the UK.
