having said earlier that it didn't resemble anywhere on the chilton branch, i've recently seen some old track plans and now agree entirely with axlebox. the stop and calling-on signals were operated by chilton bank foot, the distant signal by gypsy lane. a rare photo indeed!
and if anyone happens to have a photo of gypsy lane box, i'd be more than interested in seeing it. i passed there many times on the united no 15 spennymoor-darlington bus.

error on my part! it was chilton crossing i passed on the no 15 bus.
