ER photos from the Bluebell museum

Just found this collection of ER photos.
Reedsmouth to Kings Cross and many odd places in between.

Some interesting pictures there - just a shame about the heavy blue copyright logo across the middle of every picture.

Every photo is somebodies copyright and it's entirely reasonable to protect them against plagiarism.I've found several of my own photos used without credit and in one case the owner of the site claimed them as copyright!

I am not saying there should not be a copyright mark its just that in this case it spoils the pictures.

Some excellent photos here, most are new to me; however one of the 1955 photos captioned Middleton in Teesdale is actually Cotherstone.

Some excellent pictures on this website, although a couple listed as Hertford North are of Hertford East (Nov. 1960)

If you mean the one with the big fir tree that is actually Mickleton - Cotherstone was on an embankment. See my 1977 photo here.

Definitely! - Not many overhead wires at Hertford North in those days!
Regarding some others :
- Going by the 26 Nov.1950 King's Cross photo, 2-26-2, of 62822, looks like the train was in platform 7.
- 12 Jun.1954; I've a feeling that the captions of the two photos at Highgate may be inaccurate concerning direction of view and/or Up/Down sides.
- 30 Apr.1955 : Two Hatfield photos; the 1st is there - but the second, 5-127-2, - pretty sure isn't Hatfield: St.Albans Abbey I think. The third, 5-127-3, 'Midland Main Line' from NLL - correct; Dock Junction signal box on left: And on the right - Incline line from MR to Maiden Lane box & Camden Road, and St.Paul's Road goods depot.
The fourth; the train is on the Down Goods north of Copenhagen Tunnel, having come from Goods & Mineral signal box, and so had either come down from the N.London Line via that Incline line from St.Pancras Jn.(NLR), or out of KX Goods Yard or 'Top Shed', or from KX station via the short but steep Down South London Goods just north of Gasworks Tunnel.
- 27 Aug. 1955: 1-18-1 'Unknown'; Looks like Firsby South (see 1-17-6 just before).

Yes, I thought they were in that area, or possibly Bellwater Junction.

Yes, you are right - I was going by the buildings and didn't notice the fact it was in a cutting!
