Is it still there, Bryan? I don't recall seeing it for some years (unless it's hidden away somewhere?)

Good detail in the photos, but I'm interest in the Miners coach at http://little-locos.photos.gb.net/p68502250.html
What does "Bath Men Only mean"? The whole coach was for miners who needed a bath? Any idea what the coach number might be? It looks like 9300/something. On the 3rd compartment from the right, what might the words be on the door?
Is it running on a form of Fox bogies? No vacuum brakes for a passenger train, which would be right, I don't remember seeing many NCB locos with them. Be nice to model that coach with the end lhs doors falling off of their tennon joints. Apart from dirt and grime, what would the base colour have been?

NCB Ashington Coaches

A number of Ashington coaches ended up at Beamish. The well known one is the Locker Compo now in Crimson livery. On one visit there was a good line up of these coaches.
By chance the nearest of these was the coach referred to above. I have enlarged this and hereit is!

This is the only coach I can see on the Carriage survey and also on the Beamish website number 2118 listed as coming from Ashington.
Go to the Carriage survey page and enter 2118 and built for NER.
Strange that although 2 coaches in the main photo above only 1 coach listed.

Thanks for the link Arthur, what a facinating website Beamish have got. Photos of more adverts than you'd have platforms to put them on. I found a couple of photos of one of the coaches, not sure that the second is still at Beamish or exists, but the caption shows:- Eliptical roof coach. No 118. Built Sept 1913. Sold to Ashington November 1955. LNER and BR number: E2118. National Coal Board number 9300/163. Brought to Beamish 1971. Length: 18 metres
