Neil,
Good photos. Thanks again.

A couple of caption comments if I may, in case of interest to you.

http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/ ... tvXRq-A-LB - To me this doesn't look like anywhere near Hornsey : - More like near 'Folly Farm bridge' over the cutting just south of Greenwood box (location sometimes called 'Hadley Woods' [as distinct from Hadley Wood station] ).
If pushed I would plump for this shot being of a train on the Down Goods - Judging by all roads having bullhead rail, I would say this could be before the Greenwood-Potters Bar quadrupling, and from the look of the exhaust, that there's a bit of steam on, either to get a heavy train up to Greenwood's signal or the driver has already 'got the road' to turn out onto the Down Main and on into Hadley South Tunnel.

http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/ ... d7wVH-A-LB - "near Welwyn" - well, sort of. From noting the six tracks, the look of the bridge, the slight cant of the tracks (train leaning away slightly I think), and the double banner signal just beyond the bridge, I'm pretty sure 990 & 251 are on the Up Fast passing under the 'Jack Oldings Corner'- Mill Green - Hertford road on the approach to Hatfield.

Nice photos - I think the first time I cabbed Henry Oakley, it was still standing outdoors!
