NER Z1 Atlantic and Bleriot monoplane photo?

Post by Rlangham »

Stumbled across this this morning - the caption states c1915 but more likely to be 1910-1914. Has anyone seen it before, and is there a story behind it? I'd have thought it's most likely to be staged given the coincedence of a perfect shot of an express as a monoplane just happens to be in the background;

Ay up!

I suspect the Bleriot was added in the darkroom. Difficult but not impossible. And a lot of fun!
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!

It's a very, very common trick seen in period photographs/photo postcards - often using photographs of aircraft on the ground, then modified to show them in the air flying over a certain location, in a very odd looking position
