Has anyone got any info on these posts? supposedly of LNER origin, what the I & G signify. These ones are located at Guide Bridge station.

"I" is Inspectors and "G" is Gangers. I have a copy of an LNER drawing for them dated 1937 but it gives no detail of their meaning. I think they may relate to the LNER motorised Gangers Trolleys introduced in the 30s.
