Bridge numbers of the Lincoln Avoiding line

Post by Nutley BJ »

Hi,
Is anyone able to assist with my enquiry?

I have various photographs of bridges on the former Lincoln Avoiding line and I am just interested, for the record of my photos, in finding out the numbers of the bridges - does anyone know of them or where I may locate the information?

Thank you in anticipation.

This info is from the 1904 2-chain Survey of the GN&GE, which is somewhat light on local reference.
This has been supplemented from the 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey of the same period. Sometimes the two differ.
48 underbridge shortly after Greetwell Jcn where the Joint on to Lincoln and the Avoiding line are parallel.
49 underbridge at the divergence where the two routes have separate bridges.
50 underbridge.
51 underbridge.
So far these appear occupational.
52 over the Honington-Lincoln line.
53 over Canwick Road just before 1 mile.
54 over end of St Andrews Road-Accommodation?
55 over end of Cross St.
56 over minor road/track and Sincil Dike.
57 over High St.
58 over River Witham.
59 road to Boultham School & Boultham Hall.
60 over access road to clay pits?
61 over Midland Railway at 2 miles.
62 underbridge occupational.
63 over Main Drain.
Then Boultham Jcn.
When the Avoiding comes parallel with the GN from East Holmes at nearly 3 miles, both routes cross bridge 48 of that line over the Junction Drain (AKA Main Drain).
Then the Avoiding line ends at Pyewipe Jcn.
