Two new pictures: No. 251 and No. 60008

Post by richard »

Thanks to Peter Langsdale for two preservation photos. These are:

Gresley A4 No. 60008 'Dwight D. Eisenhower'
(I now have a preservation era picture of all six A4s)

and

Ivatt 'Wide Boiler' Atlantic C1 No. 251:

Are you short of any other pictures, Richard? We ought to be able to cover most things between us, I'd have thought - especially me, being in NYMR/York Museum/Shildon country.

Here's another picture from Peter: D11/1 'Butler-Henderson':

Jwealleans: I think I have most of the preserved engines. Off the top of my head, I still need both the E4 and E5 2-4-0s (GER and NER respectively). Also the NER D17 4-4-0 (saw it last time I was in the NRM, but difficult to get a good picture due to reflections and people).

Not in the NRM collection, but I also need the Scottish 4-4-0s: D34 'Glen Douglas', and D40 'Gordon Highlander'; and the Gresley N2.

For pre-preservation pictures, my needs are more complicated...

Peter has also added another picture of the D17:

Unfortunately the high gloss finish and the NRM's lighting make it difficult to get a good picture - but I think the new picture adds something. It is definitely better than my own attempts!
