I notice that last year's was 8 days, anyway, it'll be great to see Bittern come up, and stop for 5 days, and have the change over with Gresley, both ways.
We didn't get a lot of the last one here in York, this is all we saw of it!

Not quite international rescue?

Not even the 57/3s are International rescue the real international rescue is 45407 and 76079 to railtour steam standby no matter where you are in the country. IRE-think about it.

I should have thought that a much more likely route than Perth - Hilton - Ladybank - Dalmeny - Winchburgh (with all the potential to interfere with First ScotRail's E&G service from there) is Perth - Gleneagles - Stirling - Greenhill, which has the added advantage of raising nostalgic echoes of the A4s' swansong on the Glasgow (Buchanan Street) to Aberdeen expresses. It's quite photogenic through Strathearn, too, and there are still semaphore signals at places such as Blackford.
So - did anyone dare tell Stephenson, "It's not Rocket science"?

Iposted it else where but can't find it!

On the subject of a Diesel hauled GNER 43 set, does this happen a lot?

Whilst aproaching the ECML on the A1237 York Outer Ring Road this evening around 20:30 one went up, with a definate 'Block' in front of it, heading North!
