60009 Union of South Africa going like a bat out of hell through Chippenham station at night...

Turn the sound up and enjoy

The station announcer didn't get to finish his little bit about keep back from the platform edge.................

Great piece of film and excellent sound.. well done the cameraman!! no finer sight in this world than an A4 at speed

Yes, I prefer the first video, however both are excellent. I read somewhere that the speed was around 78mph.
Surely this is what steam preservation is all about. A4's were designed to run fast. A sight and sound not to be forgotten.

Of course, of course, the locomotive was Union of South Africa not Bittern. My silly error. Well, I knew what I was talking about.
