Northumberland councilers have met today at ashington with network rail with the view to reopen to passenger trains on the route to all stations south including northumberland park metro station bbc look north tonight

It's about time we saw some action on this, as all we've heard for years is talk. Although I wish the media would stop referring to the branch as the Ashington Blyth & Tyne. The Line was built by the B & T, to take coal to the rivers Blyth & Tyne, and made no reference to the many towns and villages it passed through.
