I would have thought that is exactly what it is!

But will it be an apple green mess?

Let us hope the direction is Forward.

The number of times the East Coast line has changed operator and colour scheme, it keeps the coach/loco painters in a steady stream of work. They have only just about completed the Virgin rail re paint change .

Nice to see Branson is still blaming NR for non implementation of infrastructure improvements. Absolute rubbish to deflect the blame. The new trains aren’t even ready so what service improvements was he going to make. Reflects badly on his brand, he was only 10% partner but used his brand for the publicity.

It should increase the number of hits on this site considerably. Perhaps we should all start reading up on timetables, fares etc so we can answer all the questions?

I didn't see anything on the BBC News article mentioning the LNER? Perhaps they changed it or I wasn't looking close enough.

It also says it is only going into State ownership for 2 years - new franchise round in 2020. Sounds like deja vu all over again.

Probably old news, but from the map, looks like the Highland Railway's Inverness route finally became a part of the LNER :-)

Oh great, I'm going to get a lot more confused queries; and junk mail from Chinese wheel set manufacturers...

The short BBC news reports I listened to during the day did drop the 'LNER branding' aspect of the story later in the day.

One can understand a red theme given the re-branding that is just complete. It is the smiling twenty-somethings running things that I just do not get. However nice they appear.

Cynical phase over, honest.

A swanky new way of up dating the LNER letters on a red (LMS) coloured background that must have taken all of 5 minutes to dream up.

G'Day Gents

With only 7 LNER Pacific in the UK, will it be enough for a full LNER service, I think they'd better hurry up and get 2007 in to service,

manna

PS Sorry I forgot the 2 Ivatt Atlantic's and the Stirling single, they might just manage. :D

Maybe they could hire a couple of privately owned Deltics to help out with the main line services along with a couple of rakes of B.R.Mk1 & Mk2 coaches now that would be a trip down memory lane circa 1970.
