Yes the painting is now completly finished, and she sounds brill up the bank at Tanfield.
With regards to shildon, we now have furness 20 back, (running tomoz and monday) until early january, and don't let the owners here you call her a replica!! Fr 20 is the oldest working standard gauge loco in the uk, maybe even the world???

Anyway she's a lovely old engine, MrB, apparently rebuilt from a kit of parts - all, I hasten to add, genuine Furness No.20 bits. I'm pleased she'll be at Shildon next month.

It's a pity, in a way, it wasn't really 60923, MrB - as typoed in an earlier post - I can't get this gadgetry to 'quote' it - It would make up for poor old broken 60800.

I am assured by Shildon people that the J21 will eventually be reclad, redusted and turned out as smart as 69023. The usual wait for time - and money, of course.

Regards.

Second visiting engines for the gala weekend is due to arrive today. Manning Wardle 0-6-0ST Sir Berkeley is the second star guest courtesy of the Vintage Carriages Trust.

She's sure to look great on a rake of vintage carriages or a mixed train.

Photographic evening on Friday - all six gala engines in steam. Cameo scenes, six enigne line up as well as the usual treats in and around Europe's oldest working engine shed. Turn up and pay 6p - 10pm.
