I see in our local rag mag today that the NRM has turned down an anonymous donation of £450,000 fielded by Pete Waterman, for someone to finish the overhaul and then run Scotsman for 10 years, overhaul it again and hand it back to the NRM. P.W. claims the offer was worth £2.5 million in total...now that`s money.
NRM spokswoman says they will have it running in 2011 anyway, and states "the NRM is careful to ensure that F.S. meets the highest standards of saftey, efficiency and engineering quality and therefore the restoration is a lengthy process.
Wonder what they have done to it to increase efficiency....or is that just pr speak.
They mention that the chassis is due to return to the NRM from Ian Riley`s in the next few weeks.
Dave.

Re: 4472 Scotsman
Even simple improvements like new, modern, boiler cladding could increase efficiency.
