Ay up!
That's the other preserved Y7. It used to live at Ruddington but may well have found its niche at Beamish!

That's the first time I've looked at a picture of a loco and thought 'aww, that's quite cute'

Hi Guys,
The H Class will be running both days this weekend, with yours truly driving it part of the day on Saturday. Saturday trains run 13.00 until 16.20 (every 40 mins( and then 11.00 until 16.20 on Sunday. Also in service will be MSC 67 which is getting towards the end of its ticket.
Our H Class has always been at Middleton, other than a few visits elsewhere. I never became a BR loco, being sold by the LNER into colliery ownership. Believe it or not, this restoration we have actually shortened the cab, taking away the 6inches added by the NCB. Its very tight!
If anyone is around at the weekend, please come and say hi.
Many thanks

Another quick pic from me. This was taken whilst running in at Moor Road yard over our gala weekend. Hopefully the weather tomorrow wont be as damp as that weekend.

Now that i'm living fairly close to Leeds i'll try and get up to see 1310 at some point - does the Middleton Railway do footplate experiences?

Re: Return to Steam for NER Class H / LNER Y7 No. 1310
Here's a picture of 1310 at the 'launch weekend' this morning. In that bright NER green it doesn't seem to spoil the pictures that the sun isn't out
The fireman was trying to get sufficient swing on the specially shorterned shovel in the tiny cab, must have been working judging by the colour of the smoke and the fact that it's blowing off.
The shot is taken from the Moor Road ground frame, a good spot for photos but it is trackside and requires the permission of the train crew. I'll be the guard tomorrow so if anyone is coming down feel free to ask.
