Indeed the Hartlepool FC mascot is known as Angus the monkey. Another little known fact is there is the same story in Scotland about one of the fishing villages ISTR 1 of the following 3 names Anstruther, Crail or Pitweem as being the village.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Said monkey was fined £500 (which is why this is sometimes referred to in slang as a Monkey) and when he refused to pay or answer their questions he was dispatched.
