In today's Newcastle Journal:

Many people are not keen on Richard Branson, but I always thought that they did a good job on the West Coast line and most of their problems were caused by external factors, likewise the Cross Country services they ran from our local station were excellent, even if the Voyagers lacked a certain something.
Do people think that he can revitalise the ECML?

Not if it involved Pendodildos. Or any more of those hateful Voyagers. Or any of their anticompetitive practices which sent W & S to the wall. I wonder if Grand Central would have got a look in if he'd had the franchise already?

He'd get them back on track would he, are they off track? Typical of this big mouth.

It will be interesting to see, if Branson wins it, whether he will be made to take on Hitachi's Super Express Train. The train designed by the DfT (Daft) that nobody seems to want!
