I was on the info stand for the NYMR all day today.
So I was able to get in on the press launch bit before the public opening.
Lots of Railway Names and faces present including Peter Townsend the Kings Cross Shed Master who looked after about 18 of the A4s. Managed to get a quick chat with him as well.

The place was busy all day maybe easing off a bit about 15.00. Very warm.

Back again tomorrow and Wednesday / Thursday next week.
People we spoke to from all over the world, US, Canada, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Australia, N Zealand and India. Also just a few souls from the UK.

Got some photos but as I have only just sat down not looked through them yet.

I know a chap in San Antonio who was hoping to be there, but I haven't heard if he made it or not. If you saw him his name was Frank Houzvicka and would have probably been flying the flag for the Lone Star Chapter of the European Train Enthusiasts (a US organisation).

Excellent photos -thank you very much from one who may not be able to get to York to see that line up.
What is the group name for a gathering of A4s? A 'streak' of A4s? A 'chime' of A4s?

G'Day Gents

Thank you for the pictures, a nasty cold and 12,000 miles stopped me attending

Here goes folks with my take on the A4 event. Just go to the link below. You'll notice a couple of interlopers City of Truro lurking in the background of the main hall and a very sad and dusty Flying Scotsman in the workshop. OK a couple of photos are out of focus unfortuntately. The panoramic photo hasn't quite worked out either, though I haven't really used that setting and it's way better than most of my attempts. I really should use my tripod for those sort of shots.
