Your collectively welcome. As with no doubt many of I take photos for my own ends and as a memory of an event/trip/holiday etc and pretty well the other contributors I'm "sharing" my memories...... :D

Thank you for the pictures, a nasty cold and 12,000 miles stopped me attending

Arh, a case of man flu!!! Very serious condition, a wise choice not to travel. September will hopefully see you fit for the next gathering up at Shildon

I am now really giddy with anticipation for my trip on Monday, and I see that you get to cab Bittern, bonus, just wish her water tender was there

I will be going in the last week....when things have calmed down.

Apparently it was packed today!

Have I mentioned that it was 5000 through the doors by 13:30 on the 3rd?

I'll be facing the crowds again tomorrow, but it will probably be even busier!

I'll likely have my 'OO' 4468 (as preserved) with me - i.e it may be appearing sat on Mallard at some point

You will not be the first to do that.
Saw quite a few doing just that Wednesday and Thursday.

Any comments on the display case models of all 35 A4s?
A lot of interest around them but with many cursing the reflections in the glass.

There wouldn't be 35 for very long if the glass wasn't there...

Presumably the first though to do it with one that matches the A4 in her current condition - I only know of one other such model in preserved condition, and that one isn't glossed. Plenty of the corgi models made their rounds on Wednesday.

Considering that about 70% of the 35 A4 collection is made up of old TD models, I wasn't overly impressed. A very good idea, but just not to my taste

I went yesterday and had a thoroughly excellent time. Arrived around 11 in the morning and had to queue for about 45 minutes to get in- first time I've ever had to queue to get in! I'm hoping to be able to go again later this year.

Very busy on Saturday - 12500 through the door, and that's just what they had chance to count

How wrong was I about it being quieter!
Arrived at 10, and found a massive queue snaking around the car park, once doors opened things moved pretty quickly. Never seen so many people in the NRM. Got some photos but will be Saturday before I can post online.

Only stayed an hour and a half, went in the simulator which I felt was a charming way of celebrating the record run.

When we left the queue was as bad as it was before 10am and the NRM had just announced they were only accepting on the one in one out policy.

Great to see how well this is doing for the NRM's profile!

Sorry to hear it was so busy Tom. I was lucky enough to get a ticket for last night's NELPG/NYMR special viewing evening since my dad's a member. Not too many people so there were plenty of photo opportunities with a little patience and they also cleared the area and removed the steps near the end for clear photos of all six although the light was a bit challenging by then.

We overheard some museum staff saying they'd never known anything like it and why hadn't they done something like this before! Here's a few pics.

Lovely photos AJ.
I'm going to go again next week but get their late on possibly 5ish as I've heard it gets quiet considerably.

My apologies for not asking the NRM to move the sun and turn those spotlights off...
